The Career Foundations: Making Your Education Work for You curriculum helps students who read at a 4th grade level or above or who speak limited English assess their skills and interests, explore career paths, and craft a plan to get them to college. Created in partnership by Women employed and City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), Career Foundations encourages students to view adult educations as program that leads to real opportunity. Centers currently offers a 2 week Career Foundations course that results in students identifying a future focus area and developing a concrete plan with a specific timeline to complete basic skills classes, earn their GED (if needed) and transition to college.
